October brings cooler weather, shorter days, and of course- Halloween! If you’re not sure what to do for Halloween this year, check out my complete list of events happening on the Central Coast. From friendly-family activities to creepy haunted houses, there is truly something for everybody.
Nightmare on Main St Haunted House
Where: 99 S Main St, Templeton, CA
When: Every weekend in October
Billed as the scariest Haunted House on the Central House, this Halloween frightfest takes place inside an actual abandoned house in Templeton that is over 120 years old. All profits made from this haunted house go back to the community and over the last 8 years over $40,000 has been donated to local programs! Zoo Boo
Where: Charles Paddock Zoo
When: October 27th from 5-8:30 pm
The Zoo Boo hosted at Charles Paddock Zoo offers Halloween fun for the whole family! The Zoo will have carnival games, a costume contest, a haunted house, and of course lots of treats! Tickets are only $10 and children under 2 get in free! For more information,

SLO Farmer’s Market & Trick-or-Treating
Where: Downtown SLO
When: October 26th from 5-8 pm
Enjoy an evening of trick-or-treating at local businesses in Downtown SLO! Maps and treat bags will be handed out at Union Bank at 995 Higuera St. There will also be a costume contest for children of all ages, as well as families, and pets! For more information,

Pumpkins in the Park
Where: Dinosaur Caves Park, Pismo Beach, CA
When: October 27th from 10- 1 pm
The Annual Pumpkins in the Park event in Pismo Beach is back! This family-friendly event is a great way to spend your Halloween. This year there will be pumpkins for decorating for the first 500 kids, costume contests, crafts, and a bounce house! For more information on Pumpkins in the Park,

Trick-or-Treating in the Village
Where: The Village of Arroyo Grande
When: October 31st from 3- 5 pm
This family-friendly event is hosted in The Village of Arroyo Grande on Halloween Day, which is on a Wednesday this year. Kids can enjoy safe trick-or-treating at local merchant shops on East Branch St. while wearing their costumes!

Cambria Scarecrow Festival
Where: Streets of Cambria, CA
When: October 1st– 31st
Now in its 9th year, the Annual Cambria Scarecrow Festival has grown into a community-wide event that showcases hundreds of scarecrows around Cambria. Spend a weekend afternoon this month enjoying this unique Halloween tradition that will keep the whole family entertained.

Carved Pumpkin Contest
Where: Ramona Garden Park, Grover Beach, CA
When: October 26th from 5:30-7:30 pm
Come enjoy yourself at the Grover Beach Carved Pumpkin Contest! Bring your carved pumpkin to enter it for a chance to win prizes from local Grover Beach businesses. Plus, there will be trick-or-treating, carnival games, and snacks! For more information on the event,
